Solo queda un día para la fiesta!!! Only one day for the party!!!

ESP - Éstas últimas semanas he estado de lleno con los preparativos para la fiesta de cumpleaños de Daniela y Alejandro, que como ya sabéis, será temática Princesas y Caballeros. Me hace mucha ilusión que lo festejen juntos, y por eso estoy preparando cada detalle con mucho cariño. No he puesto ningún post en algunos días, pero los que me seguís por Instagram (es muy adictiva esa plataforma, os la recomiendo 100%) habéis visto algunos de los avances.

Así que os dejo con un resumen de lo que he estado haciendo, y os invito a seguirme por IG para estar más al corriente de mi "día a día" ;) Mañana viernes, seguramente iré subiendo algún detalle de la fiesta en mi cuenta Instagram, y por supuesto tendréis todas las fotitos, recetas y DIY en el blog en los próximos días!!!

ENG - These last days I haven't posted here because I've been really busy with all the things that need to be done for Daniela and Alejandro's Princess and Knight Party. It's the first time they celebrate it together, and I really love it, so I'm doing everything with lots of love! Still, I have been posting random pics on my Instagram account (really addictive, by the way), so I invite you to follow me and see more of my everyday life in there.

Here's a collage of my preparations for the party. Tomorrow I will probably post some pics "live" on IG, so stay tuned. And in a couple of days, all the photos, recipes and DIY!

DIY: Chaleco de Caballero

ESP - Ayer os enseñaba en mi Instagram los materiales básicos para este disfraz casero de Caballero. Son cosas que podéis encontrar fácilmente por casa: Una bolsa blanca de tela, lazo (yo usé uno al bies), tijera, hilo de coser y un trocito de tela vaquera (o cualquier tela para hacer el escudo).

Tenía una bolsa en casa, cuya tela me gustaba por su aspecto rústico. La corté en forma de chaleco tomando como referencia una camiseta de Alejandro para la talla.
No soy modista, por lo que no hago plantillas o moldes, voy ajustando el diseño sobre la marcha. Se lo pruebo al peque y si hace falta corto más por aquí y por allá. Así que no tenéis excusa, no hace falta tener ningún conocimiento básico de costura para hacer este disfraz!
En un principio iba a hacerlo de manera que se lo pusiera como una camiseta, es decir cerrado por detrás y simplemente con el agujero para la cabeza. Pero dado que se agobiaba un poco a la hora de ponérselo, decidí abrir la parte trasera y atarlo con el lazo, como los baberos que les ponemos para comer (de hecho, de ahí podéis sacar una plantilla!).
Para tapar los bordes, cosí a mano el lazo (a máquina os quedaría muuuucho mejor y más rápido) y lo personalicé con un escudo que recorté de un vaquero viejo y la letra A de Alejandro.
Espero que os guste y os animéis a hacerlo para alguna fiesta o para carnaval!
Ahora solo me falta mostraros al peque con su chaleco! Próximamente...

ENG - Yesterday I showed you in my Instagram the basic materials to make this easy knight's vest costume. They are all things you can easily find at home: a white fabric bag, some ribbon, scissors, sewing thread, and a piece of denim fabric to make the shield (or any other fabric you want to use).

I had a white bag at home that I loved because of it's rustic appearance, so I cut it in the shape of a vest, and to calculate the size I compared it to one of my son's t-shirts.
I'm no modist, so I don't use patrons, I go with the flow. So I make changes all the time. Alejandro tries it on, and if needed I cut here and there. So there's no excuse not to do something like this, no basic knowledge is neccesary!

At first I wanted to do it like a simple vest (to put it through his head) but he got anxious in the meantime, so I decided to open it behind and use the ribbon to tie it together.
I sewed by hand the ribbon to all the edges to make it prettier (if you have a sewing machine it will look ten times nicer!) and customized the front with a shield that I cut from a pair of old jeans and some ribbon to write the letter A for Alejandro.
Hope you like this simple tutorial and decide to it for a birthday party or carnaval!
Now all I have to do is take some photos with the birthday boy in it! Soon....

Galletas para un cumple de Princesas y Caballeros / Cookies for a Princess and Knight Birthday

ESP - Ya falta muy poco para el cumple de mis peques y este año por primera vez comparten fiesta y por eso pensé en una temática de cumple apta para niñas y niños: Princesas y Caballeros. 

Alejándome de todo lo Disney, tules y purpurinas, me he centrado en un reino  medieval donde los valientes caballeros rescatan a las princesas de feroces (pero encantadores) dragones!

Ayer hice las galletas que regalaré a los invitados (a la vista está que las galletas no son lo mío, pero una lo intenta) y este es el resultado. Coronitas de la princesa Daniela y escudos del caballero Alejandro.

Os adelanto también un poco el diseño de la fiesta, algo muy sencillo, en una gama de tonos pasteles que aportarán el color a la fiesta. 

Me queda poco tiempo para todo lo que me falta por hacer!!! A ver si llegamos a todo! Feliz comienzo de la semana!

ENG - Soon we will be celebrating my kids' birthday, and this is the first year I had to come up with a theme for both boys and girls: Princess and Knight Party.

I wanted to stay away from a Disney, sparkly and shiny kind of party, so I created  this medieval kingdom where brave knights defend princesses from evil (yet adorable) dragons.

Yesterday I baked the cookies that will be given as party favors ( you can tell cookies is not my thing, but I try) and this is the result. Little crown cookies for Princess Daniela, and shields for Sir Alejandro.

Here's also a sneak peek of the design I made for the party, something simple with a soft colour palette.

I still have a lot to do, and so little time, I hope I can do it all!
